More Gorgeous Snowmen

Hello there,

Just a quick post from me today to share another of the cards that I made using the new Crafty Individuals Snowman Stamp CI-485:

I stamped and white embossed the image onto Kraft card and then coloured in the snowmen using white ink.  I stamped the frame twice and then fussy cut it to add more dimension.  Here's another photo which shows this much better:

As you can see clearer on this photo, I fussy cut and decoupaged the snowmen's hats and scarves too.

Thank you for looking and I wish you a happy day x

New Christmas Stamps at Crafty Individuals

Hello there,

I'm sure if you're a fan of Crafty Individuals that you might already know that they've just released three new and very gorgeous Christmas stamps.  When the stamps arrived with me, I just couldn't put them down and I know that you'll love them too.  Here are three samples that I've made using each of the stamps:

Jean will be back on Hochanda on the 1st of December with more of her lovely stamps and demos, and I'll let you know the times of the shows a little nearer to the time of the event.

That's all from me today so I'll wish you a happy and colourful week x

Rememberance Day

I'm here today to share with you a card that I've made for Remembrance Day.

My wonderful Dad worked on the railways in Burma during the second world war and my Granddad received the 'Distinguished Conduct Medal' for his bravery during the 'Battle of the Somme' in WW1.  My thoughts are with them both today and with all the other brave men and women who gave so much of themselves so that we might have a better future.  Thank you xx

One Layer Christmas Cards at Stamping Sensations

Hello there,

I do hope that you're all keeping well and happy.

It's time for a new challenge over at Stamping Sensations and our theme this time is 'One Layer Christmas Cards.'  Now I now that the thought of creating something with one layer fills some people with dread but I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed making this Christmas card.

I started by stamping the base of the Inkylicious snow globe with Distress Walnut stain and painting it with Distress Tea Stain before adding the circular stencil to enable me to create the globe itself. Once I was happy that the stencil was in the right place, I used my Ink Dusters and also a sponge dauber to give it a little more detail around the edge. The ink I used to do this with was Blueprint Sketch.

With the globe all finished, it was then time to stamp my Crafty Individuals Robin in place and give him some colour using some water colour pencils.

I created the border of my card using some lovely stamps that came free with the Creative Stamper magazine last year. I've used these stamps so many times and I have to say that I love them. The colours that I've used to stamp with are Impress Olive Green and the Walnut Stain.  The red bow and berries were made using Adirondack Cranberry.

With my card almost finished now, I added my sentiment and some iridescent glitter to the base of the dome to give the impression of snow sparkling.  As this is a one layer card, I drew a fine black line using a Sharpie pen around the edge of my finished card to give the impression that the card had been mounted. I'm happy with this card turned out and I hope that you like it too.

We are generously sponsored this month by 'Tattered Lace.'

Stamping Sensations is a stamping challenge, so we must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as the focal element of your artwork, this means: Stamping must be the central point of attention and interest.

All the details of our challenge rules can be found here

Please note:  If we don't comment on your entry it will be because it doesn't follow our theme to qualify under our rules, or because we are asked to sign in or provide additional data to comment on third part hosts such as Instagram, Flickr or Facebook etc.  We really don't want to be rude but we do want to be fair to those who follow the rules.

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x

Bee Crafty Bird Tag

Hello there,

Just another quick post from me today to share a tag that I've made using one of the Bee Crafty stamps that I bought at Stamp Magic at the weekend.  It's the first time I've ever used these stamps and they leave such a good impression and I'm really impressed with the quality of them too.

I made the background using Distress Oxides and then used various stencils to create some depth and interest. Next, I stamped the bird with Versamark and then bleached out some colour.  The words were stamped and then cut out from an Inkylicious stamp.

I'll be back soon to share the last of my Crafty Individuals samples but until then, I'll wish you lots of happy crafting x

Autumnal Lakeside Cabin

Hello there,

I didn't intend to post anything today as I've been to the 'Stamp Magic' show at Doncaster.  The show was so much better attended than the last show in June and the atmosphere was good.  I bought some new crafting goodies and caught up with my lovely teamies....Sally and Lynne from Stamping Sensations, and Sally and Lynne's friend Audrey, so it's been a great day.  The trees on our journey home looked absolutely spectacular and so I was inspired as soon as I got home to try our some of my new stamps from Inkylicious (Not yet on their web site) and here's the result.  It's only a quick card but I just couldn't wait to have a play:

These are two separate scenic stamps but they work really well together.  They can be used for any season really but I thought that I'd start with Autumn before it whizzes by.

I hope that you've all had a lovely weekend x
